Resistor History & Fun Facts

Resistors may look simple, but they’re the quiet heroes of electronics. Early radio builders had to hand-solder bulky resistors that drifted in value, while today’s tiny components are laser-trimmed for accuracy. Fun fact: resistors are often rated by their ability to handle heat, and the familiar 1/4-watt resistor can get hot enough to be uncomfortable to touch if you push it beyond its rating.
